Primordial Felt (2011) 7” X 8” X 3” Wool, leather, silk, cheese cloth, Canson paper, acrylic paint
Textiles are my fundamental language. The exploration of new materials remains exhilarating.
I ventured into fine art through a deep exploration of felt-making and an affiliation with the Textile Center of MN. Handmade wool felt became a bridge to the three dimensional work I now make. It gave me permission to extend the knowledge and discipline acquired in my first career as a scenic artist for theater to the fiber art I create today.
